Headwinds from Europe’s Regions: Questioning the EU’s Wind Energy Policy
Across Europe, rural areas are becoming the frontline in one of the biggest battles of our time. The rapid spread of large industrial wind turbines is changing landscapes at an incredible speed. This is creating serious problems for local communities, nature, cultural heritage, and regional economies. What Brussels calls a “green necessity” is actually a top-down ideological project. The European Union is putting its climate targets above people, nature, and common sense.
The Patriots for Europe Foundation is organising the conference “Headwinds from Europe’s Regions: Questioning the EU’s Wind Energy Policy”. The conference will take place at 19:00 on Friday, 26 June 2026 in Lienz, Austria.
The European Union now has more and more power over energy and climate decisions. This raises important questions: Who should decide the future of our countryside and local communities? the regions themselves or bureaucrats in Brussels? Are these policies really giving us affordable and reliable energy, or are they just destroynig our rural areas? What does this mean for our landscapes, our identity, our economy, and our right to decide our own future?
The conference will bring together policymakers, experts, and especially local voices from across Europe. We will openly discuss the real problems with the EU’s wind energy policy and explore how to protect our regions, preserve our landscapes, and create a more realistic energy policy that puts citizens first, not ideology.
The event will be followed by a cocktail reception with food and drinks
